I have been playing Orb of Creation since I think Dev 0.1.x and truly love it! I would love to try out 0.5.0, and am happy to pay for a pre-order if it's in the works: is there any chance you're working on a mac-friendly version as well? Or a platform-agnostic one? Fully understand if not: it is a ton of extra work, and honestly thank you for all you've done so far!

Are the + and - button supposed to only allow you to select the minimum and maximums?

(1 edit)

the + and - buttons increment according to the multiplier you have selected in the bottom right - so if you have selected MAX, the + and - buttons will always jump to the max and min value respectively

thank you!

Hey,

I've purchased all upgrades but both the Aquatic Blasting and Life Stone have insanely high costs (1000M etc). Is this just a natural stopping point to change over to the Steam version, or am I missing something that would give me the required storage?

Thanks, its a great game!

(+1)

I'm pretty sure that's the "end" of the older version that is on itch.io -- consider that a "demo" to the Steam Early Access game which will also be getting all the updates. :)

The saves are not compatible. v0.5.0 completely changes the progression in several areas of the game!

I think it would be good if you could turn off an atrifact by clicking on it so that the artifact could charge once it has been fully drained.

Fantastic work on this game!! Found the web version after I saw it in my Steam queue. Putting this one one the wishlist!!

<3

Will there Be a Apk, or Android  Version?

(+1)

Eventually! I estimate closer to the summer at this point though.

(+3)

I... just deleted my save on accident. Could you maybe add a "Are you SURE?"-window..?

(+1)

My poor Orb, pondered it for nearly 20hours total, tragically it has been deleted. Please, add a confirmation message to the "Delete Save" button.

On the bright side it's only 20 hours, I can probably get my progress back if I have it in the background while doing other stuff for a few days.

Am I going to be able to export progress from the game here into Steam when it becomes available? I've been having a blast and plan on picking it up on Steam, but it'll be a real bummer if I have to start over.

(-1)

There is already a function for importing and exporting save games. Chances are quite high that your save will be transferable.

Unfortunately no, your save will not transfer. This is not a steam thing though, v0.5.0 is very different progression-wise, as whole systems have been redone, and thus your saves will not carry over.

Ok thank you! Really looking forward to it!

Very cool.

Please  add other hotkeys for non-American keyboards. The spell loadout hotkeys don't work and it's annoying to switch they keyboard layout every time I let it idle and later go back to the game.

It would be awesome to switch loadouts with just the mouse without having to go to the Magic menu. Loadout-switcher buttons in the bottom bar would be very appreciated.

there's actually a menu in v0.5.0 that will allow you to customize key binds, i don't know where tho, I only saw it in the discord.

every time go export save it go blank after try interact with it

(+1)

I noticed that too. There is still data in the box though. Copy and paste it to a .txt file and you'll see it

Love the game itself but my god what do you have against my CPU? A browser plus other stuff in the background such as discord and such only bring my cpu to around 10% but this game alone with nothing else running but the browser required to run it make it 80%-100%. I'm sorry as I love the game itself but I don't love it enough to have it be the death of my computer. The fact you want this game to be long term doesn't help either. You will need to find a way to lessen the drain and resources it pull but for now I can't in good faith recommend this game to anyone without a disclaimer of how much it ask for just to run. In comparison with the browser running in the background while writing this a Dynasty Warrior style game only took 14% of my CPU. Browser, Steam and a game call Just Die Already (a physic sandbox with a decent size city to roam around in) took 50%-60%.

I really hope you find a way to get the game to work without disallowing me to use the rest of my computer at any given time while killing said computer because I would really love to dive deep into this game. For now though I have other fun options that aren't so demanding. If you can't find a way to lessen the CPU drain then I highly suggest make a version where you can play at a much faster rate and just get it over with. A version which each basic resource spell fill their bar to 100% always. That way players can see what the game offers without being forced to stick to it for hours at a time. I honestly do wish you the best of luck but mistakes like this really do screw people over if they aren't careful. I notice something was wrong when I was unable to watch youtube videos while playing at the same time. This game basically held my computer hostage.

(-3)

Sounds like the main issues are your lack of patience and your CPU.

I have a butt-load of tabs open in Chrome, I'm crypto-mining, and watching Netflix.

I just lost my save bcz my computer crashed. I guess i not playing it again for 40 hours straight

Autosaves tho?

(1 edit)
I thought too but it didn't save.
All my saves are blank now.

Damn, I wish you luck in your future pondering then

(+1)

thx

(+1)

It already did, It just needs to come on here lol

(+1)

Been pondering my Orb for hours, I really enjoyed it. Looking forward to seeing it when it comes to steam

(+2)

Is this game downloadable anywhere ?

(1 edit)

if you download the itch app you can download it from there and export your save from the browser.

This game is amazing, however i can't transfer my save file, it always crashes the game.

(+1)

Slight Tick in left headphone ear while casting Conjure Spring, part of the Music Track and a few other areas which I can not locate.

Found a bug with Energy/Brainstorm When I cast Brainstorm inflicting an Energy Drain the innate Energy Loss 4% stops applying allowing the Energy bar to fill completely. This wasn't noticeable until my Energy Transmutation generation exceeded the Brainstorm's Drain value.

I assume Loss and Drain are supposed to be cumulative.

(+2)

Amazing incremental - love it!!

Assuming I didn't miss this feature, would you be able to add some way to see all the upgrades we purchase after we purchase them so we can read their descriptions? I may have bought some upgrades once or twice without absorbing what they did, and then wasn't sure how exactly they were helping me

You could just have a filter on the upgrades menu to "show purchased items", or you could have something like a "Tome of Knowledge" that shows an entry for every upgrade, glyph, or whatever that you've unlocked.

You put a lot of work into all the icons and descriptions - let us keep seeing them somehow!

(+2)

It seems like "Vulnerable" applied by Lightning Attack Spells does the OPPOSITE effect.

I hit a guy with lightning bolt, suddenly none of my attacks deal any damage until the vulnerable wears off.

Oof

(1 edit)

Question: Did you just update the game today? it shows the total amount of the items in like the ritual where you can buy lol it said that there were 5 active and they were saying that it was +20 defense instead of 4

(2 edits)

Never mind. I reloaded it and it fixed it. It kinda sucks that I have to wait until the next update :c, welp, I'm gonna go play other games until then! Please let me know if there is an update I will try to work towards the 1000M ceremony although it would be really hard!

that upgrade is not meant to be reachable

Any updates coming?

I'm pretty close to capped, and I'm most impacted by the inability to select potion level. I can't produce enough Elementia to finish a level 40 potion, and level 1 potions just make me sad compared to being able to select something between the two that I could finish and take advantage of.

I can select the potion the level. pressing on the little arrows next to the level-bar changes it by 1

(+2)

Still working on the next version!

The buy multiplier in the bottom right corner adjusts most "changers" so if you set it to 1 you can change the potion levels more accurately.

Hey Marple, I'm curious, are there any reasons why you set the bar so high for the Life stone and the aquatic blasting things?

(1 edit)

I'm also looking for future updates! please let me know :D THIS GAME IS FIRE!!!

This game really has the potential to be the best idle game BAR NONE. Hoping for longer loops andprestiges in the future that invite you to start over from scratch to get strogner and stronger. Also just when i was starting to get the hang of the early game, it forced me out. Dev if you read this, the first 25% of the game is far superior to the rest, please try to expand on the core casting elements rather than building up the  other areas too much. All the cool spell combos and bonues just combine to be FAR better than the rest of the game, and it seems crazy you're expanding outwards rather than layering on the what your game does so well. If you gutted all the alchemy and crafting, and combat and focused on improving the UI and hotkeys for the magic elements of the game and simply build prestige's around this core experience this game could be something amazing. Don't make 2 or 3 games in parrelel that are kinda ok, make ONE fantastic game. I feel like you're spreading yourself thin and missing what the core of teh game could be, getting lost in several elements of progression that don't really build each other up, they just draw potential polis and UI real estate from other areas,

(+2)

Counter-opinion here, I appreciate the variety immensely. I also very much dislike the general prestige-prestige-prestige again systems of most incremental style games, and much prefer this style of "hey, learn new stuff, figure out how to get really powerful, then we introduce another element"

(+2)

I enjoyed the multiple elements, but they felt a bit uneven. Like the first world was just so dense and all the upgrades interconnected and led to all this great layered experience, and then boom you start doing alchemy, and you start doing carpentry and not only did they not really connect, but the first area just became completly forgotten. Which to me felt like a step back because the first area was IMO head and shoulder the most fun. If the first area with its mixing and matching of magic somehow played more a roll in the other areas throug hte game it would have been a better experience in my opinion.

It's kind of a pet peeve of mine in idle games when you have all these buttons and UI real estate for thigns that are no longer relevant and the game slowly turns into cat and mouse trying to find what was relevant.

This game is really awesome! Excited to see where further development takes it!

(+3)

this game is poggers

It looks like when you use the "Cognitive Mastery" that the deep memory effects only go up by 25% instead of 50%.

I think I've found a bug, I've tryed to use expansion potion lv51+ wich says "drain cost -100%" in combination with other potions but mana is still drained from the pool by an augmented spell (with augment glyphs+ blast wand+ attune potion)

the plan was to first use mana potion (lv51) to have a massive mana pool, then freeze the pool using a spell that drains it so when the potion effect worns off I still have a massive pool for casting high cost spells.

I then use blast wand effect on "condense time" spell, then I use "atunement brew" (I think attunement brew multiply its effects with the blastwanded condense time) and I cast another condense time (after waiting for blast wand cooldown) wich is multiplyed further with the new conductor effect mutiplier on blast wand

the result is a spell increasing dramatically exp rate for artifacts (and brewing speed) at a high mana cost

thats where the idea of using high level expansion elixir comes from

problem: it doesn't work, I'll try using an elixir with less than -100% drain cost and update this message

edit: it seems to work fine with 99.9%

Should've imported my save... Had potions and workshop but it's deleted

I'm new to the game and I saw this pink stuff I need to buy Storm Crafting and Energetic Wisdom with. What is it and how do I get it?

Deleted 2 years ago

oooooooh i use expand magic ok i got it now.

(+4)

For some reason lightning spear makes the enemies less vulnerable rather than more vulnerable to subsequent spells.

Is there a hotkey for switching loadouts? Also requesting loadouts for artifacts. Should also make it more obvious that the buy multipliers work for crafting, I only found out at the end of the content about it.

I found the hotkey by accident, if your keyboard supports it (corsair k98) then it is the volume scroll wheel lol.

It's also the '[' and ']' keys

(+2)

That kinda sucks for us without US keyboard. I get it from å and ¨... It's not the worst, but we need to experiment to find the keys if they are weird. Should be able to change the keys.

Casting hasten with an empty/unoccupied spell slot seems to crash the game.

(+2)

this is a nice lil game, and i'm excited to see future updates and where it goes! can't get enough of idle games like this! ^_^

I have just unlocked rituals, and I have absolutely no idea what I'm supposed to do with them. I spam my spells to no apparent effect, get shot at by a book, and lose 10k thaumaturgy. What am I supposed to do to maintain stability? What am I supposed to do to progress to the next level?

Learn the Fireball spell (you need to discover "Dragon") and get Blaze as a resource. Equip a few Fireballs into your loadout before you start combat, and one Conjure Blaze. (You will get more combat spells later on.)
Afaik the only way to recover stability mid combat is with potions.

(+2)

After the new update, paper and thaumic paper covers my bottom most resource bar. Other than that, loving the new balance.

(1 edit) (+3)

I feel like the previous version (0.3.9) was a bit more fun with the spell creation and augmentation, especially when combining with Amass Power. Also made most cap raises trivial, since you could do a lot of it with spells, not just upgrades.

In 0.4.2, capacity is the name of the game. At a certain point, you must play with potions to get to the next stage. Sadly, the game hardcaps shortly after, there's no way I can reach 1000M Ceremony or Elementia, with upgrades that can only give +8/+12 capacity, and no percentage capacity increases.

The few things I miss from 0.3.9 are brewing multiple potions at a time, and having more than 2 potions in the toolbelt. Also there's so many resources/items available now that keeping track of them is a little annoying, so here's my bid for a "condense stats" toggle where they can all fit on the screen without the need to scroll up or down.

The big thing I like is the combat/rituals mechanic, combined with the additional spell loadout it was fun to play with, but unless there's more (realistically accessible) upgrades hidden behind some high level thing, I think I have to wait for the next version.

(+5)

Yup! The 1000M upgrades mark the end of the current content, and as for multi brewing it'll be apart of the unfinished content. Stay tuned for the next update!

Bug: Creating a Thaumic Scroll decreases Mana Capacity by a little bit instead of increasing it.

Could the issue be that it is reducing your Thaumaturgy, resulting in a net decrease since Thaumaturgy also gives mana cap?
